The Eastern Veil Nebula is a supernova remnant in the constellation Cygnus.
It is 1,440 light years away from Earth.
It was discovered in 1794. by astronomer William Herschel
It is best visible in summer.
It can be observed through telescopes or binoculars with an OIII filter.

This nebula is part of a larger object called the Loop.
Swan (SH 2-103). This object is over 3 degrees wide in the sky and has many interesting nebulae.
