The Iris Nebula is a reflection nebula located in the constellation Cepheus.
It is located approximately 1,400 light years from Earth.
It was discovered in 1794 by William Herschel.
Nebula this one is located around 1400 light years from Earth.
It is best to observe it in spring and summer.
At the center of the nebula is a star called HD200775, 10 times the mass of our Sun, which illuminates this relatively dark object.
