This comet was discovered on March 27, 2020, using the Neowise space telescope.

July 3, 2020 approached the Earth at a distance of approximately 170 million. km.

While moving away from the sun, it came closest to Earth at a distance of 104 million. km.

​

It is a type of long-period comet, i.e. one that orbits the Sun for longer than 200 years.
